Parent Drop off and Pick Up
There will be a new procedure for drop off and pick up this year. This takes effect August 4th and will remain in effect throughout the 2020-2021 school year.
Parents will enter Oak St. off of Hwy 50. Follow Oak St. until you are forced to turn left onto Lincoln. At the intersection, turn left on Old Potosi Rd. From Old Potosi road, parents will turn into the parking lot and follow the designated path to the pick up point outside of the gym. PARENTS WILL REMAIN IN THEIR VEHICLE* and a GES staff member will escort students to them. Parents will then exit the parking lot at the intersection of Old Potosi Rd. and Fitzgerald. (See map below)
*We ask that parents remain in their vehicles at all times to promote physical distancing while also ensuring a quick and efficient pick up experience.
Students are encouraged to wear masks on the bus
Students will be given assigned seats on the bus
GES will attempt to seat students every other seat to promote physical distancing

Reminder – please be sure to call the office, 764-3321, if your student is absent. If we have not received a call by 10am, we start calling to try and reach a parent to verify the absence. This is a practice that all schools in the GCR-II district follows. Each month we run an attendance report. A student who has missed 3, 5, 8, or 12 absences will receive a letter from this report, whether the absence is verified, excused or unexcused. These letters should only be a cause for concern if your child has numerous absences and/or several unexcused absences. Please be sure if your child visits a doctor that they bring in the doctor’s note. If we call to verify and are unable to leave a message or if no one calls back after leaving a message, the absence is considered unexcused. **
